How to quickly wash couch pillows (easily!)

There is nothing worse than having a couch pillow that is stained, dirty and smells! Not only is it frustrating to look at, but it can also be quite embarrassing, especially if guests are over. Luckily, there are a few simple steps that you can take to quickly and easily wash your couch pillows. The best part? You probably have all of the supplies that you need right at home!

To start, you will need a clean pillowcase, water, detergent, pre-soacker (optional). Here is a quick way to quickly wash and dry them and have your pillows looking as good as new before you know it!

Step 1 - Remove the pillowcase

The first step is to remove the pillowcase. Check any labels to make sure that if the pillowcase is machine-washable, you can machine-wash it. If the pillowcase is not machine-washable, you can hand-wash it in cold water. If the pillowcase is especially stained, use a quality pre soaker first to give you an advantage.

Step 2 - Fill a bathtub with water

The next step is to fill up a bathtub with hot water. Be sure to use hot water, as this will help to remove any stains or dirt that may be on the pillow.

Step 3 - Add detergent

Once the bathtub has filled up with water, add your preferred powder or detergent. Be sure to use a product that is safe for your skin and designed for removing stains, like Hudstone Regular Powder or Hudstone Sensitive Powder. You do not need to use too much, as our powders are super concentrated without any fillers or bulkers that most other brands use.

Step 4 - Soak the pillows

Once the detergent has been added, place the pillows in the bathtub and let them soak for about 30 minutes. This will help to loosen up any dirt or stains that may be on the pillow.

Step 5 - Rinse the pillows

After 30 minutes to an hour, use a tap or a hose to rinse out the pillows. Be sure to get all of the soap detergent off of them, and squeeze out the excess water.

Step 6 - Let the pillows dry

Once they have been rinsed, place the pillows in a sunny spot to dry. They should be dry in a few hours on a good day. If it's colder or cloudy of course it may take longer.

There you have it! A quick and easy way to wash your couch pillows. Be sure to follow these steps the next time you need to clean your pillows, and they will look, feel and smell like brand new in no time.
