How to get Blood Out of Sheets (in 2 Easy Steps)

Getting blood stains out of sheets is a common issue that many Australians face, especially if you're prone to nosebleeds, have children or it's just an unfortunate accident.

Don't worry though, Team Hudstone are here to help!

Here’s our proven 2-step guide for removing blood stains as quickly and as easily as possible:

Step 1:

Soak your sheets in cold water and some Hudstone Pre Soaker for 30 mins. This will oxidise the stain and break it down.

Step 2:

Wash as normal with Hudstone Laundry Powder, or give it an extra soak if required.

Should I use Hot Water or Cold Water on Blood stains?

It’s important to use cold water when treating blood stains as hot water can actually set the stain into the fabric, making it even harder to remove.

Why use Hudstone on Blood Stains?

Hudstone’s range of laundry products are specifically formulated to tackle tough stains like blood, while still being gentle enough on your sheets.

Our Pre Soaker is enzyme-based, meaning it breaks down the proteins in the blood that cause staining. It's also safe for all fabrics and colours so you don't have to worry about damaging your sheets while trying to remove the stains.

Additionally, our Washing Powder contains active oxygen which helps to further break down and lift blood stains (and more) from the fabric. We use non-toxic formulas so you don't have to worry about harsh chemicals being left behind on your sheets.

More Tips for Washing & Removing Blood Stains:

  • For fresh stains, rinse with cold water immediately.
  • Always treat the stain as soon as possible to prevent it from setting in.
  • For older or stubborn stains, repeat the soaking and washing process until the stain is completely gone. It may take some extra time, but stick with it.
  • For delicate or expensive sheets, it's always best to avoid using hot water or harsh chemicals. Instead, opt for a gentle detergent and pre-soaking method.

Remember, prevention is always better than cure.

If you know you're prone to bleeding or have children who tend to accidentally get blood on their sheets, consider keeping a Hudstone Pre Soaker on hand to quickly and easily treat any stains before they become too difficult to remove.

Don't let blood stains ruin your beautiful sheets. With the right products and advice from Hudstone, you can keep your sheets clean and stain-free.
